During the Road Atlanta weekend the USSK membership in attendance cast their vote for the 2010 seasons 3 Board Members and 2 Advisory members. The following people were nominated by the membership:

Andy Kiker
Jeff Meter
Tris Gour
Mark Croslyn
John West
Bobby Butler
Firouz Haghighi

The members in attendance participated in a secret ballot, while members not in attendance were permitted to forward their votes prior to the race, allowing their voices to be heard. The voting was counted and recounted for veracity by a third party and the USSK is pleased to announce the following Board and Advisory Members for the 2010 season:

Andy Kiker, Board
Mark Croslyn, Board
Firouz Haghighi, Board
Bobby Butler, Advisor
John West, Advisor

In addition, several proposals were brought up during Pizza Luncheon that the USSK provided on Saturday. The most altering was a restructure of the classes. While the rules for the 250 Single and Twin karts will remain the same, the points structure will be modified to break racers up, not by kart type but by age brackets.

The S1 Class is for all drivers 54 years of age and younger who run any 250cc two stroke engine, regardless if it is single or twin or any 500cc four stroke engine regardless if it is a single or twin. S1 class champion will be reworded the US PLATE.

The S2 Class is for all drivers 55 years of age and older at the start of a season, who run any 250cc two stroke engine, regardless if it is single or twin or any 500cc four stroke engine regardless if it is a single or twin. A driver that meets the criteria to be in the S2 class has the option to race in the S1 Class if they so choose.

The SS Class will remain unchanged from the 2010 season and will provide trophies and podium presentations if there are four or more racers registered for a particular race. End of Year Points will calculated regardless of how many entries there are at a given race.

The F-125 Class will remain unchanged from the 2010 season and will provide trophies and podium presentations if there are four or more racers registered for a particular race. End of Year Points will calculated regardless of how many entries there are at a given race.

The S1/S2 change from the FE/ICE was proposed to help create excitement and generate more competition in the USSK. It was met with some apprehension members. When put to a vote, a majority of the members voted in favor of the change, stipulating a trial period of 1 year or special request vote to return to the FE/ICE standard.

ALL OF 2010 USSK EVENTS WILL BE RAIN OR SHINE.
