Kiker & Spear top podium at VIR!

VIR Champs

December 2007: The technical course at Virginia International Raceway proved to be no match for USSK members Andy Kiker and Mike Spear, Jr. who finished first and second at the 1st Annual USKGP Decemeber 16. Michael Beamer (also pictured above on the left) rounded out the top 3 ICE winners. In addition to Andy & Mike's first and second place finishes in ICE, Scott Lowenstein finished tenth even with brake trouble. The FE guys were holding their own as well. Finishing fourth through sixth were USSK members Johnny West, Mark Croslyn, and Jim Brannon.

Congratulations to all the USSK members who participated and showed that this truly is a group of the best of the best!

Santa Sleigh-ed them!

December 2007: Jim Brannon, aka Santa, left all the good boys and girls at VIR speechless with his entry for the Run What Ya Brung race at VIR. Between the burn-out on Friday and the races Saturday and Sunday, the speed and power this machine had, and Jim's control of it, left everyone amazed!

Pictured above is his 1000cc Suzuki GSXR. While the class was limited to 600cc's, Jimmy still was able to race and left everyone in the dust! Ultimately, he also walked away with a trophy acknowledging his efforts in building such an amazing machine.

ROUND FIVE - ROAD ATLANTA, BRASELTON, GA.

Reggie Brown with the big FE TWIN class win from the last starting point on the grid. In his P1/BRC powered machine he was putting down blistering lap times with series regukars Johhny West, Jimmy Brannon and Chris Taylor on the sidelines with equipment failures. The German entry of Juergen Reinke had a strong start but pulled off track mid way through with a persitent engine gremlin. Reggie was followed by Bobby Butler putting in a strong showing followed by Loren Feldner, Pat Yoshicane and Mark Croslyn

In the ICE category Andy Kiker was once again setting the bar followed this weekend by Mike Spear Jr. who without engine gremlins would have given Andy and Martin Reuck a run for theit money. IN the end it was Kiker with the win and overall win for the USSK Race followed by Martin Reuck, Jayce Haghighi/David Lirette and Firouz Haghighi and Scott Lowenstein. It had come to the attention of the race stewards that David Lirttes had finished 3rd but was not counted for 2 laps in scoring due to a transponder malfunction. It was great racing all around and with the Awards behind us some are looking forward to a nice Poker Run race to close out the USSK season and many look forward to finishing out 2007 with a trip to VIR for the USKGP.
